a home for every doll.

WELCOME TO ADOPT-A-DOLL
providing new loving homes to gently-used dolls

DOLL SEEKS NEW HOME
Is your special American Girl doll hidden away in a closet, collecting dust? We can help her find a new home.
Some girls have been fortunate to own an American Girl doll sometime during their childhood.
But, as girls get older, they naturally move on to other interests. These well-loved dolls are then hidden away in closets and garages, taking up space.
Here at Adopt-a-Doll, we collect these dolls, clean them up, and "adopt" them out to children who would be thrilled to love and care for an American Girl doll.
We place these gently-used dolls with girls who are having a difficult time in their lives, whether it's a disability, serious illness, homelessness, or domestic abuse.
HOW THE ADOPTION PROCESS WORKS
Each doll placement is very personal. We pick up your doll, provide her with a makeover, and then match her up with a new family.
1. COLLECT DOLLS

First, we collect gently used American Girl dolls. Contact us to arrange for a personal pick up at your home or business. We also accept monetary donations, if you would like to purchase a new doll for a child.
2. PROVIDE A MAKEOVER

Next, we carefully clean each doll, fix her hair as needed, and make her a custom t-shirt, so she is all set for Adoption Day!
3. PLACE DOLLS FOR ADOPTION

Finally, we match up dolls with their new owners and then personally present the doll to her new family at Family House at Oakland Children's Hospital, Shelter Inc., Shepherd's Gate, Running with Love or Down Syndrome Connection. We also facilitate a thank you note and photo, so the original owner can be assured that the special doll has safely ended up in a loving home.

It's Adoption Day! Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to place dolls in new, loving homes! Currently, we partner with organizations such as Family House, Oakland Children's Hospital, Shelter Inc., Shepherd's Gate, Running with Love, SonRise Equestrian Foundation and Down Syndrome Connection to connect with new adoptive "moms".

OUR STORY
Hi, my name is Lauren, founder of Adopt-a-Doll.
When I was younger, I loved playing with American Girl dolls. I designed clothes for them, created fun videos and took them everywhere. I wanted to share this happiness with young girls who are experiencing a difficult time in their lives.
Since seventh grade, I have been volunteering at Family House with Oakland Children's Hospital by providing meals to the families staying there. I saw how challenging it can be when a loved one is sick in the hospital. In addition to providing food, I wanted to do more to help bring a little bit of joy to the kids during this time. When I realized that there were lots of beautiful dolls collecting dust in people's homes, and lots of little girls who would just love the chance to own a special doll, I decided to launch Adopt-a-Doll to bring them all together!
Thank you for your support!
